TRUE CRIME ADDICT!!

 True Crime Lover

If you're anything like me, you LOVE true crime. The continuous story series, the different cases on each episode or even a feature film; all types of it, I love it. I first started getting into true crime when I was about 17/18 when I watched a documentary about a particular case and from that point, I was hooked.

I always watch the newest documentaries that are out on Netflix! I think my favourite type of true crime show out there, is the unsolved case programmes, the best one is Cold Case Files. There have been a few now that you can watch  (I can't for the life of me remember what they're all called but another great one is Unsolved Mysteries) mostly on Netflix. It's so nice to see that unsolved crimes finally get their justice and help the family and friends get peace. But then they're also so interesting because they're using DNA collected from 20/30 years ago in some cases and you can watch how they were collected and how they were used in evidence. In one episode of Cold Case Files, they took a thumbprint from a jar of mayonnaise that was preserved from the scene and used it to catch the killer! It blows my mind!  If you ever get a chance, definitely go and watch them!

A DIFFERENT VIEW ON TRUE CRIME

Now if you like true crime but you like to see the courtroom side of things, then watch The Staircase. I won't say any spoilers but it's a crazy case! When I started watching it I got about 4 episodes in then I got I bit bored if I'm honest. I don't know if it's because I'm a nut job but the courtroom antics don't really thrill me like watching an unsolved murder unravel. I bet the killers thought they were getting away with it but good forensics skills from experienced detectives, keeping certain evidence aside and then them using that evidence to get a conviction is NUTS. It's nothing against the show, it's amazing if you like that sort of thing but it's just not for me.

TRUE CRIME EVOLVING

As I got older, I've also fallen in love with makeup (look out for a blog post about that very soon)! There is a YouTuber called Bailey Sarien and if you like makeup looks and true crime, she's the one to watch. Bailey goes through certain cases and true crime stories whilst doing her makeup incredibly!! The detail she goes into and the back stories she finds of each person involved makes it so much more fun to watch. There are some long ones that she has, the Jeffrey Dahmer one is over an hour but WORTH IT, but then she does have some 30-minute ones if you don't have much time.

Obviously, with anything, there have been some series that weren't as good. You've probably heard of The Staircase on Netflix because it blew up when it first came out! It's honestly such a wild story like the theories they come up with and what happens throughout the case (I won't spoil anything, don't panic!) but after a couple of episodes, it got a bit tedious. If you're more into the courtroom side of things and the testimonies, then give this a go because it is predominately about the case unfolding in the courtroom and the lawyers working on the issue.

A new one has just come out, it's called 'Dahmer'. It's not a documentary but it's a series about the life and crimes of Jeffrey Dahmer and I honestly can't wait to watch it! I'll try and watch it all quite quickly and then I can keep you all updated with my thoughts :)
